Not recomended for people with routers!

Pros: Small, no memory hog, considerably easy to use, skins available.

Cons: It doesn't allow auto port-forwarding for your router. You have to go through a lengthy configuration to manually forward your port. If you don't, download connections will be slower. I recomend BitComet or Azureus, although bigger in size, they automatically forward ports.

Routers

You just have to Port Forward the port you are using on your router. I'm using a NetGear router.

Port forwarding isn't rocket science.

It isn't really that difficult to manually configure the ports for any software. Just go to protforward.com for instructions and test it at canyouseeme.org. It's a zip really.

IF YOU HAVE DSL READ THIS. Or if you have Cable

Ports are freaking annoying and confusing. After several chat sessions with Linksys and hours (LITERALLY), I figured out how to open ports and its EASY. Portfoward.com was very confusing. I had Cable and a Linksys router. My ports were always open. No matter what port was chosen. Then I switched from Cable to DSL and from Vista Business to Ultimate, and my ports were always closed. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR ROUTER. Login to your modem, and go to home networking, nat/gaming, and click define custom service. Click port forwarding. Remember the port Utorrent is using, and stick it in all 3 boxes. The service name can be anything. I keep the protocol to TCP. And click done. then click the custom services box, and select utorrent. (whatever you named the custom service) and click enable. Check that port with the utorrent checking tool, and it should say ok and the check mark should be green. If you have any issues, my aol name is joshsnice. and my email is joshsnice@yahoo.com
