• Keeps disappearing

  Love that I can type out some text and view how it looks with all the fonts.

  Cons

  The program keeps disappearing! Every time I need to use it, I have to re-install it because it is mysteriously no longer on my computer. If it would stay on my computer, I would give this computer 5 stars.

  I'm a graphic designer who has used all sorts of font managers over the years. With nearly 3000 fonts installed, this program loads them up quick. I mainly use it to categorize different typefaces, like script font., handwriting, serif, trendy.... etc. After spending all sorts of time making sets and tagging fonts, sometimes i load the program and everything is reset to default. No way to get back all those lists or tags. There really should be a way to export these lists. The rest of the features could be tightened-up but they are otherwise excellent for a free program.

  Fonts added to groups can be activated when needed without installation, so the system won't be slowed down with hundreds of fonts installed. You can categorize fonts whether they are installed or not installed in your library by adding them to sets.

  Cons

  Sometimes the fonts within a set wouldn't show and I need to click on the installed fonts for it to load up and click on the set again for the fonts to appear.

  Summary

  Pretty impressive, given that it's free as well.

  Displays in large type, loads quickly, you can see your own text in every font. I still install fonts in the old way via windows, so I'm not sure how it works for installing.

  None so far.

  I have spent the last hour scrubbing my computer of the trash that came downloaded from cnet along with this program. I have always trusted cnet until now for virus-free downloads, but NexusFont came with SweetPacks Toolbar, Conduit Search Engine, and several others that take control of all browsers and are hard to get rid of. Thanks, cnet.

  Packed with useful features, but intuitive and easy to use. Just in reference to the some comments in the previous review, the font the reviewer refers to as being distorted is a font with known problems of distortion which would also be distorted if opened in Word, for example. Also, fonts are easily resized simply by clicking on the drop-down menu at the top of the window.

  This program offers lots of useful options but the high point for me is being able to tag fonts with my own keywords, then I can view by tag. I have certain fonts I use for certain types of designs but I can never remember all the names and it is tedious looking through all the fonts for the ones you want. Now I just tag them and they are easy to find again. I also like being able to input some text and see that text displayed in the list of fonts. I like being able to sort by font type, as well, when viewing the whole list. The cons: Some fonts are distorted in the display. For instance, Academy Engraved displays the 'e' superimposed over the letter before it. I cannot resize the fonts. The instructions say to press control and use the mouse wheel to increase or decrease the size but this does not work for me. It would be great to be able to set some preferences. I would like "add" to be checked by default rather than "replace" when adding tags to fonts, for example. All in all this is a very useful program and I highly recommend it. Just keep your eyes open when installing from cnet and be sure to uncheck or cancel all the spam they want to install- lol!
