From jEdit:

jEdit is a cross-platform, programmer's text editor written in Java. Some of jEdit's features include: runs on MacOS X, OS/2, Unix, VMS, and Windows; built-in macro language; extensible plug-in architecture. Dozens of macros and plug-ins available; plug-ins can be downloaded and installed from within jEdit using the 'plug-in manager' feature; auto indent and syntax highlighting for more than 80 languages; supports a large number of character encodings including UTF8 and Unicode; folding for selectively hiding regions of text; word wrap.

Version 4.3pre12 includes unspecified updates.

"Awsome"

Pros: 45,000 downloads (as I'm writing this), and only 7 votes and one other review? I guess y'all know how good it is already! But seriously, the plug-ins are what truly make this such an incredible product. Hard to believe it's all free.

"The excellen application - very handy and very useful for developer"

Pros: Design style, wide range of possibilities - much more then has been written in
the application description ( for example two kinds of folders ), full scaled help file, scripting language, block text selecting - all from above makes the software
one of most perfect in it's class of application on today.
