Publisher's description of FrostWire 4.13.5
From FrostWire:FrostWire is a fork of the very popular LimeWire PRO Gnutella/Bittorrent client. The purpose of FrostWire is to keep and maintain the freedoms that LimeWire LLC may be forced to withdraw. Share any type of file on Gnutella and the Bittorrent network. Version 4.13.5 fixes bugs.
Note: This software comes with ASK toolbar, that can be installed or uninstalled at the user's choice. Some antivirus programs flag the ASK toolbar as a threat.

- "Frosty yet hot"
FrostWire is a fork of the LimeWire source code, and as such, it functions exactly the same. When you search for a file using FrostWire, you get results from LimeWire, and vice versa.
However, the user experience differs in two ways. One is that the code is actually based on LimeWire Pro, the paid version of the popular P2P client, so users don't have to worry about simultaneous download restrictions, and they won't get bombarded by ads. Also, befitting the name, the interface has changed from green to blue and has been slightly improved. Tabs have rounded corners, and there are two additions, as well. Connections monitors your outgoing and incoming connections by host name, but also provides bandwidth information, the vendor and version being used, and more. There's also a built-in community chat.
When we tested it, the built-in media player in FrostWire didn't work with MP3s or MPGs, although those files worked fine in LimeWire and elsewhere. The app also comes bundled with the ASK toolbar, but you can opt out of that during the installation process. While some people have experienced faster download times with FrostWire compared with its parent, others have not. FrostWire and LimeWire are practically indistinguishable, although the lack of ads is a big plus.

Version: FrostWire 4.13.5
Pros: Good Interface, Fast Downloads, Completely free,
Cons: Hacks Instant Messenger clients running on the host machine, it was detected by my firewall noticing that frostwire was connecting through MSN and my AIM and Trillian, Don't use unless you don't use IM clients

Version: FrostWire 4.13.5
Pros: This is a great network, they prettymuch have everything you need and with a turbo connection. Also has a very nice messenging service. Does give stuff that's not really what it says it is but at least you can check mp3's for authenticity now just by clicking twice on your download, even if your download hasn't finished so you know about false downloads early.
Cons: None

"A little better than Limewire Pro"
Pros: Frostwire seems a little faster than Limewire pro at connecting and searching for files. Especially if your behind a router. You don't need to pay for Frostwire nor do you need to start surfing for a crack to get the same behavior as found in Limewire Pro. It can even Download from Bittorrent tracker sites so you can search on both the Gnutilla network as well as Bittorrent sites to get the quality files you want while the program automatically seeds the torrents for others to enjoy on the Bittorrent network. I suggest making a seperate folder for your torrents and share the torrent folder. Works well for Movies and some TV episodes as well. Hopefully the RIAA Mafia group can't ever kill Gnutilla as its a good netowrk since its serverless.
Cons: The gnutilla network does have spam thanks to anti p2p organizations out there. Always use PeerGuardian when you are running p2p apps to block out malicious spammers. Although its not 100% you'll still need to train your junk filter in order to block out these pesky spammers of Gnutilla. Ares Galaxy does seem to have fewer spam files on its open source network. Plus you'll have to go into the keyword filter and block .wma, .aif, WAV files from your audio searches. But you'll still get spam from some websites trying to sell you something via the Mp3's.
