Version: eMule 0.47a
"First time I have ever tried eMule..and I like it!"
Pros: I like this p2p application, and it found me some stuff I couldn't find with other p2p clients. You can use eMule to download free music, games, videos, full movies, and software products. Try eMule it is free! However, I'm giving eMule 4 stars instead of 5 because it just is not as fast downloading as Morpheus, LimeWire, Ares, or Bearshare. The search results were super fast but the downloads came a little slow. I did eventually get every thing I wanted, but it took much longer than the p2p clients I mentioned above. I know the eDonkey network is huge, but maybe all the hosts were gone on this long Memorial Day weekend because I could not get enough hosts to generate fast download results.
Cons: This is not really a con, It is just some tips for first time users of eMule: Welcome to the world of file sharing. If you are downloading just music, you shouldn't have any problems. But if you are downloading games, movies, or other software products, never download a file that is smaller than 1 MB. It will be a virus. Also never download an exe file..only zip files, and always scan with your virus protection. Some of these small virus files are sent by the publishers,( because they feel we should buy their product instead of getting it for free) , and some by sick perks who think it is a joke to give you a virus. As far as spyware, ALL p2p apps are considered spyware by many antispy programs. If your spy cleaner detects eMule as spyware...just uncheck the box or add it to the always ignore list, sometimes called the White list. Hope this answers your questions. Happy Downloading! goldengreeke

Version: eMule 0.47a
"The key to finding rare files."
Pros: A very advanced set up and a very successful searcher means you can often find files you were unable to locate anywhere else. The user base is a lot more friendly and there are less leechers so if you share and have a good ratio your queue times go more quickly. An excellent way to access the edonkey and kad networks and a truly valuable resource for finding those things you thought impossible.
Cons: Advanced set up of this program means you must really get used to it to successfully use and understand it - so if you do not have time on your hands or do not really care for that rare file then don't bother. Queue times are a pain in the bum despite the faster moving for non leechers.

"Best client for the eDonkey network."
Pros: Its free.
It has no spyware, adware or viruses.
It lets you import your own list of servers from any place that provides such.
Has a great interface.
Its open source.
Gives you some cool network stats if you are interested in that.
Allows for a lot of customization with how the program acts and looks.
Cons: Its so good that there have been so many hacks of it since its open source...blah!
The eDonkey network still stinks...its much too slow and the downloads are nowhere near the quality of bittorrent downloads. Downloads are done by download tickets...no tickets, no downloads. BOO!

Version: eMule 0.47a
Pros: Once you know how to use it correctly, downloads start faster and have more sorces making it complete quick. millions and i mean millions, of people use it; if you cant find a file anywhere else it will be on the ed2k network. if you are only going to download music, dont bother using emule even tho you will find your song, it takes longer to get started to download, use something like morpheus or limewire. older games or movies use emule, for not very well known games use emule (it usualy finds them)
get this emule, its usualy the best for me: (world wide web) xtreme-mod.net/direct_download_mod.htm
sort out your upload and download speeds.
Cons: downloads may take long to get started sometimes, but as i've stated above, if used right it will be much faster.
