Publisher's description of dCut

From The Royal: dCut is a program written for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition (MCE). dCut was written to make it easier to compress and cut the DVR-MS files which are created by MCE. dCut combines the tasks of cutting out only the segments you want from DVR-MS files, and compressing DVR-MS files into a smaller format (Windows Media 9). Also dCut allows you to do all of this from your couch, utilizing the a 10' UI which integrated directly into MCE. dCut works via a hosted HTML App, and uses the MCE remote control.

  It wouldnt work!

  Cons: I installed and even went to the company website for more info and i STILL couldnt get it to work. Spend the money and get DVR-MS Converter instead!

  Realitively easy but output file's colors were way off.

  Pros: Easy to use once you figure out it is ni Media Center in More programs. Realitively fast

  Cons: Colors were almost inverse. If you start an edit, and then choose to abort the file creation, it keeps trying to execute every time the service is re-started.

  Not for the average user, but a super useful tool if you can work it

  Pros: The user interface kind of sucks, but it does something no other product does. And it is relatively stable and robust. If you can figure out how to use it, it is one of the only free ways to convert dvr-ms files successfully.

  Cons: Very difficult to figure out and awkward interface. The average user would probably be turned off by this product.

  Pros: Simple, works perfectly, works with the remote - no keyboard required. I like pulling and saving clips from shows. dCut works perfectly for this, and even works with High-Def shows!! Thanks Dan.
