From ZipIt: ZipIt for the Mac OS lets you compress files in the ZIP format, as well as decompress files you may come across that are zipped up. The ZIP format is the most commonly used compression method available for DOS and Windows users. Many functions are now recordable with AppleScript. It has improved support for self-extracting archives and segmented files and fixes designed to make it a more stable and reliable compression program. It also runs natively on Mac OS X.
