As the search engine wars heat up, Yahoo has upped the ante by adding powerful spyware protection to its popular Internet Explorer toolbar. Similar to other search engine toolbars, Yahoo Toolbar blends pop-up blocking and e-mail functionality with its search capabilities to enhance your browsing experience. It differs from some toolbars in that it requires an account to utilize many of its features. The interface is completely customizable and fits seamlessly into your IE browser. You can add or remove buttons for various Yahoo services, such as news and weather, but you have to refresh the toolbar to see the changes. The pop-up blocker stops most ads and doesn't hinder normal surfing.
The new Yahoo Anti-Spy spyware scanner is an excellent addition. Our test showed it to be just as thorough as stand-alone scanners. It quickly scans your system and provides detailed information about any spyware or adware found. You can then easily remove what you want. With this new protection, Yahoo has definitely become the toolbar to beat.

Pros: So, a popup blocker, and search engine, and anti-spy all rolled into one! I like it...
Fast spyware scan too, and good popup blocking.
Overall, good download, extra line of defense
Cons: Only 4 out of 5, because though it seems great, I'm wondering why it picked up 2 pieces of spyware while none of my other 7 spyware scanners, including webroot spy sweeper, spyware doctor, ad-aware, and spybot found nothing.

"Searches Yahoo, if you prefer that. But I dont see the AntiSpyware protection."
Pros: Its free.
It searches Yahoo!, if you prefer Yahoo instead of Google.
It comes with AntiSpyware protection apparently.
Yahoo! Web is built in, which lets you quickly cache your own webpages.
Yahoo! Mail is built in, which lets you quickly log in to your Yahoo! Mail.
It has profiles. Login with your Yahoo! account and it will load the toolbar layout you setup in your account preferences.
Cons: Toolbar customization is all remotely done on the server. Yahoo!'s server tells the toolbar how to appear. There is really no local customization element like Google Toolbar has.
Theres apparently AntiSpyware protection but I can't find it. Im sure its not as sophisticated as, say, Microsoft AntiSpyware or Webroot Spysweeper.
A little more bloated than Google Toolbar.

Pros: Customisable.
Anti-Spy is very quick and finds some things that Ad-Aware didn't.
Makes accessing Yahoo sites alot faster, very convenient.

Pros: This Yahoo toolbar is a worry-free, simple toolbar. Yahoo toolbar is the only toolbar that I use, compared with the other toolbars on the web, it's a great utility.
There is a space to search the web without going to yahoo or google. Easily edit, change toolbar layout, refresh toolbar, clear recent searches, finance toolbar and uninstall it with just a few clicks.
You can also easily access your yahoo mail account if you have one, you can also connect with others like in instant messengers and groups, just a few clicks on the toolbar and you can do it all.
I especially acknowledge the popup blocker, though sometimes a few popups cannot be blocked. Users can easily configure what popups to be blocked from what site.
Cons: To me, the Anti-spy needs improvements. The anti-spy lagged my computer, though this doesn't happen on every computer, try this toolbar to see if the anti-spy lags. Other then this, the toolbar is excellent.

Pros: This is one of the best toolbars you could ever use. It comes with a great pop-up blocker, a spyware remover, and a search engine. All the things you need to make your IE experience better.
