Publisher's description of XPSuite
XPSuite Skinnables is the first active-x controls collection of it's kind. The entire suite is geared around providing developers with the custom controls they need to give their projects the XP, XPLuna Theme, look regardless of the operating system.
Now with version 4.0.3, this capability of maintaining your visual appearance across platforms extends to custom skins. You like the look and feel of MAC OSX Tiger? Microsoft Vista? Or perhaps Roxio? Maybe you favor Yahoo! Messenger? Perhaps you have in mind to create a unique skin of your own. Create your own Skinnables applications or simulate the look of popular software, choice is yours. Also new to XPSuite Skinnables is complete Unicode Support! Now giving you the opportunity to not only display but to edit in multiple languages as well. XPSuite 4.0.3 ships with over 80 controls, in two styles. The Skinnables version provides unlimited possibilities, while XPSuite Lite provides less features but with a smaller footprint.

Version: XPSuite 4.0.3
"Absolutely THE WORST components on the market. No support. A RIPOFF."
Cons: The controls are terribly bug ridden. The support forum hasn't had any real update since 2005. The activation scheme keeps changing forcing you to reactivate on a quarterly basis (which is a bug ridden process in itself.) THEN, if you dare to criticize the company for the poor support, they boot you off the support site and won't talk to you anymore. THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED BY THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION!!!!!!!!!!

Version: XPSuite 4.0.3
"Technically fine, poor support and documentation"
Pros: am a registered user of the software. Technically it's quite OK with most of the controls being quite attractive and allowing the VB6 programmer to give their application a nice modern interface. There's a lot of controls and each has a wide range of events and properties for most controls and there's nothing (without a bit of digging) that I couldn't do. The price is quite low compared with competitors.
Cons: The quality of the documentation is extremely poor and the consistency in naming from control to control is a little off. What's more the way the controls handle collections is very strange and not like any other ActiveX controls I've ever used. Support is patchy at best. Email support is OK, the support board is on a completely different site from the publisher and is badly run. The biggest indictment of the software is the manner in which licensing is handled. Each installation is keyed to a single computer, so for the single developer with more than one PC this means a high initial outlay.

"XPSuite is full featured, advanced, and very affordable."
Pros: This is a serious product designed for special effects and skinning. I can`t believe how much there is to this suite of controls. The support is brilliant.
Over the last year or so it has taken only a few minutes to get a response. Support replies immediately and directly to emails. Numerous user suport forums are available as well. I understand advanced technical videos are available as well.
Compared to other products $250 and $300 a control, CIA, The Company is just giving it away at $289 for 80 controls.
Cons: Why its taking everyone else to catch on to this new standard.
