Travelers inevitably have a thousand questions on the road, ranging from the weather report and currency conversions to something as simple as the local time. WorldMate puts much of this information at your fingertips. Separate modules offer flight-schedule data that is constantly updated through the Net, a world clock, a currency calculator, a size and measurement converter, as well as tax and tip calculators. The flight module is particularly feature-rich, covering more than 825 airlines, and offering a tool that can calculate the fastest way to a given destination. A companion program allows the user to synchronize data between a desktop computer and a PDA. This application could provide a useful way for frequent travelers to orient themselves quickly while crisscrossing the world.
