Publisher's description of Word Counter

From SuperMagnus Software: Word Counter is an application that performs a word count and a character count, but it can do much more. It can be used independently or in conjunction with other applications. Word Counter can automatically update the count based on a user-defined time interval. It can show the progress achieved towards a set goal for the total number of words and characters. This program may be useful for writing a manuscript or an abstract with a strict limit on the number of words or characters allowed. Version 2.7 excludes minor words (e.g. 'a', 'of', 'or', 'the') from the count, works with the BBEdit application.

  Word Counter

  Doesn't Work in Real time

  Cons: I need something to constantly tell me how many characters are in a box for filling out online forms. Often, as in the case of this form I'm filling out right now, they don't tell you how many you've typed in, but love to tell you when you've gone over the limit. I hate opening Word to do that.

  This software makes you hit COUNT every time you want it to calculate which is a ridiculous oversight by the programmers.
