Winged Warrior III is the third role-playing game in the series. In this adventure, the Winged Warrior must stop a mysterious, metallic armored foe that is attacking the Alien World with magic. But, this is very strange, since magic cannot be used on the Alien World. Once again, the Winged Warrior must save the Alien World from a dangerous menace. Version 3.01 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Neither slick nor sophisticated, Winged Warrior III seems to have flown in from some planet stuck in the 1980s. In this Legend-of-Zelda-like quest, you play a mighty warrior facing an alien invasion of your planet. You travel around collecting treasure, talking to townspeople (or town aliens, in this case), and fighting bad guys.
The 2D graphics have improved since previous versions of the game, but they're still very primitive. Sound effects are nonexistent. Some of the challenges can be mystifying, too. In order to earn gold, for example, you are asked questions about the history of the kingdom; but where does one find the answers? We just guessed. Subpar keyboard controls even make moving your character frustrating.
On top of all that, the static, turn-based battles would have seemed dull 20 years ago, in the age of Wizardry and Bard's Tale. Nevertheless, unlike many modern adventures, Winged Warrior III isn't a gore-fest, and the bloodless gameplay may appeal to parents with small children.
