  100% free!!! easy to use small foot print lots of ffeatures and various viewing options of file sizes between numerical and grpahical to provide a type of interface for non number type of people

  for what it is and what it does none. People may want more but it would be bigger, buggier, and probably not be free

  I'm really happy with this program! It was easy to figure out how to use. It was fast, considering how many files wwere on my disk. It helped enormously to find stuff taking a huge chunk of my hard drive, in a "hidden" Windows system file, that I would have never known was there without it. The colored visulizer, while ugly as hell, made it super easy to see what was taking the most space on the drive. Great program as far as I can tell!

• Broke my Explorer

  Didn't run it long enough to find any.

  Cons

  It was taking an extremely long time to scan drives, so I cancelled it shortly after installing and starting it. It totally broke Explorer, so I had no way to move files around. Explorer started, but within seconds displayed a critical error window and closed. Fortunately Uninstalling WinDirStat recovered Explorer.

  Breaks Explorer on my Windows 7 PC.

  Pros

  This is like a long lost friend from the past, but all grown up. I love it and have it now on all my personal systems. I love the visual context as I can more easily see where things are and volumes I can immediately understand.

  None yet and no parasitic hidden apps and spies.

  Great help in maintaining my systems. Visual tool I'll rave about to others.

  The time it takes to scan a drive is more than the time it will take to copy it. Really poor.

  Be careful how you use it!

  Shows a colored map of all the files on your computer, sorts them by folder so you can see what folders take up the most space (program files, documents, etc). I use it to find those leftover files programs leave behind when uninstalled, usually in the documents folders. Just please be careful what you delete if you are cleaning up files.

  Your files: Not necessarily delete. Many of modern computers have large enough drives you don't have to do this. It gives a graphical representation of file size. Drill down by attachment type. Look at percentages according to directory and file type.

  UI looks a bit 70's.

  Nice. Good fun product. All in all, it gives you a graphical representation of your drive(s) and see if you want actually delete anything.
