Pros: The new Spy Sweeper 5.0 interface makes it even easier for novices to use. Enhanced Smart Shields prevent highly developed spyware programs from ever installing on your PC. The new SpySweeper also comes with a keylogger shield, a startup protector, and keeps your home page from being hijacked. SpySweeper updates daily to protect your pc from new infections. The registered version is excellant at finding and removing your infections.
Cons: But thank goodness I have a paid version, because the trial version will only scan and show you the spyware it has found...and won't remove any of it unless you buy it! It also uses more ram to scan and will play heck with computers that have 256MB of memory or less.

slow pc's and anyone with less than 512 megs of ram should not bother. for everyone else....... spysweeper, there is no substitute. i say this often, because i believe this to be the absolute paradigm of what an anti spyware app should be.

To say it will play heck with computers that have 256MB of memory or less is a gross understatement. Unless you are using a relatively new (faster) computer with more than 1 MB of memory you may find that your computer will slow down to a crawl or even lockup. The company refuses to recognize this problem and does not respond to emails about it.
I have had 20 years of experience with computers and it still took me many hours to figure out the problem i.e. uninstall Spy Sweeper. If it were not for postings on FileForum I might still be working on a solution. Others have had similar or worse experiences.

others have had to say about this well kept secret.
