This application capably brings you updated weather conditions for locations around the globe, though we're not particularly impressed by its powers of speech. WeatherAloud's main claim to fame is that it can read you the current forecast and conditions for anyplace in the world you'd like. The interface isn't exactly beautiful, but a graphical thermometer and wind gauge help give it some extra appeal, as do the skins for changing the color scheme. Since you can set the application to retrieve weather data frequently, we noticed no inaccuracies in what it reported. However, WeatherAloud uses the rather primitive-sounding Microsoft Speech Engine, so we eventually preferred to visually browse information rather than to hear it. Although this utility lacks a huge feature set, we did like the MyCities option, which allows you to add a number of places to a group so you can receive weather updates about multiple locations at once. Though the feature that differentiates this program from others like it isn't its strongest attribute, it's still a decent and informative application.
