Publisher's description of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War: Dark Crusade demo
The bitter war for domination of the remote planet Kronus rages between Tau, Orks, Space Marines, Eldar, Imperial Guard and Chaos whilst deep in their tombs beneath the surface the sinister Necrons are awakening after 60 million years in stasis. Now, in the 41st millennium, they have found a galaxy teeming with life; a galaxy ripe for harvesting.
Play any of seven races, striving for control over Kronus. Take other races' strongholds by winning challenging battles on various maps individually associated with the respective strongholds.
Play the tutorial and two single-player missions in this demo for Warhammer: 40,000: Dawn of War: Dark Crusade.

- "Dominate and eliminate"
The standalone demo for the latest expansion to the sci-fi real-time strategy game Warhammer: 40,000: Dawn of War throws in new factions and new units for all the factions. The two additions--Necrons and Tau Empire--are at opposite sides of the philosophical spectrum. The former are skeletal warriors bent on death and destruction, while the latter are committed to fighting for "The Greater Good." Even though the demo only allows you to play the goody-two-shoes Tau Empire in two skirmishes against the Space Marines, there's more than enough real-time fun to earn the reasonably sized demo a top rating.
Gameplay will be extremely familiar to anyone who's tried Warhammer: 40K: Dawn of War, or really any recent real-time strategy game. Aside from the new factions, most of the other updates to the Warhammer universe are new units and a new single-player campaign. Battles are basically decided by controlling various strategic points around the playing field, then using that consolidated power to crush your opponent.
The tutorial is adequate but not comprehensive, and the two missions vary greatly in difficulty. The first is a rather leisurely conquest, while the second requires a quick buildup of resources for you to avoid getting crushed by the Spare Marines. All in all, the 300MB download installs easily and provides several hours of enjoyable real-time strategy with the outstanding graphics we've come to expect from the Warhammer: 40,000 series.

Version: Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War: Dark Crusade demo
Pros: Requires no prior experience of warhammer to play. Easy controls, easy to control, great graphics, even though my graphic card doesn't have T&L.
Cons: Demo not very challenging, cpu won't upgrade units so you crush them with vehicles.
