In one sense, computers have always provided a gateway to another digital world. This download heightens that illusion, transforming the desktop wallpaper into a window overlooking a constantly shifting mountainous environment. The time of day changes from dawn to dusk. Storms with rain, thunder, and lightning are replaced by sun and rainbows.

Soothing sounds of nature, from birdsong to rain falling, accompany the animations. The interface provides immediate access to settings that can be changed on the fly. Our only complaint was a trial version that disabled the shifts in the time of day, and displayed a large nag screen every minute. On the whole, this software makes a pleasing, if sometimes distracting, addition to the desktop.

  It might be something other than crap but the trial doesn't show it.

  Pros: I like the concept.

  Cons: Stickered like an inbred yokel selling his rust covered car. I dislike that the trial is so limited, will all the options cut off, so that there's no way to appreciate this enough to buy it. It's as if their programmers couldn't figure out how to produce something that just won't initialize after the trial period that they made a trial so annoying that nobody would want to deal with it for more than 14 minutes (forget days). You have to show something to sell it.
