Publisher's description of Liveswif
From Liveswifers:
Liveswif is a free program licensed under LGPL. This means that you can use it freely to create your own Flash based movies and animation. Currently Liveswif 2.2 supports Flash 5 Actionscript for dynamic flash movies. You can also use Liveswif to create dynamic Flash based websites and even make your own games! It provides several classical vector drawing tools, you can create stunning graphics with the power of these tools, including freehand, curve, shape, spline, contour, and in-place text editor. Liveswif is a typical key-frame based animation system. It provides path motion and transform motion tools to produce animation. Just setting new positions, angles, sizes or colors in key frames, Liveswif will blend the in-between frames automatically. Liveswif supports Flash 5 action script, that means you can create interactive animations.

Pros: Liveswif is 100 % free. It is not as HEAVY as other Tools.
It provides HELP files which can guide a new user who have never developed Flash based movies and animation.

Cons: I have no Complaints I am saving $699.00 the cost of Micromedia Flash Professional ;-)
Seriously, This application is not for advanced Professionals.
But a GOOD & USEFUL Product.

LiveSwif - free & upgrade is only $49 - v. nice but you need to know flash a bit

Pros: Fantastic - but on M/S XP, you will have to be logged into an ADMIN acct and then give all users (or not) access. That's prob the reason others had probs.
Works great, a nice alternative to FLASH. The help and On/Line stuff aren't up to date, but you can google helps for it.
Cons: As with all "do it yourself" off the net stuff, you need a wee bit o; web master smarts, if you need help. email me: fleeding@hotmail.com - better two people lost in the dark trying to figure stuff out than one lone sailor with an albatross hoverin' around ;)

Free Excellet flash replacement

Pros: 1) It is free
2) many people say there are lots of bugs but as of yet I have encountered none what so ever. Although it is some what difficult to learn, it is not the fault of the program but that to learn flash in any program you would have to search for tutorials. In the end, if you don't have the money to buy the real flash, this is definitively the next best thing.
Cons: It, unfortunately, still only supports flash 5. They are working on a new open source version called OpenSwif.

Pros: You know,
For some reason I dont see much appreciation for this program.
Come people! Its free and its almost an exact copy of FLASH. It just wont get any better than this.
I think the companies who sell the real product have purposely given LiveSwif poor advertisement.
I love the program. Its saving me hundreds, and could do the same for you.
Download LIVESWIF if you havent. You wont regret.
Cons: Sorry to mention but there is a con and I dont wish to be harsh.
When you download the program you'll first off find it fairly hard to navigate due to poor advertisement, and the '''completlybasic''' tutorials. Once I understand this program to its limits I will create a new Website introducing LiveSwif in a whole new way. The tutorials I will make will be completely understandable unless you cant read. For now good luck with the ABC 123 steps.

Not even worth a look

Cons: The program encounters a fatal exception upon any/every start-up--a 'divide by 0' error, I gather, which is a huge flaw in the programming to overlook. Additionally, the "website" link that appears in the start menu's program folder is nothing more than one of those "fake" domains, with a search engine and Viagra ads...
