Sure, you know where you are. But do you know where you've been? With the simple and wonderfully handy GPS 2 Google Earth (GPS2GE), it's easy to log your travels on a GPS-equipped Pocket PC and view them later with Google Earth (a separate, free download). Just connect to your GPS unit, start tracking your movements, and set placemarks whenever you want. After finishing your journey, export the recorded data to KML format and open it with Google Earth. You'll see your entire journey marked out on Google Earth's high-detail globe. You can even use a GPS-unit simulator to plan future trips. The included GPSGate utility lets you run other GPS apps alongside GPS2GE. On the downside, GPS2GE can't import maps or display your progress without Google Earth software, so it won't help with driving a car. Also, the three executables in the ZIP-file installer package may confuse novice users. Nevertheless, the program runs stably and smoothly and suggests endless potential uses--charting an upcoming hiking trip, for example, or reliving a sightseeing tour. This is the future of travel, people. Get on board.
