• Not latest version but easy to use & handles HD video.

  Pros

  Simple to use, good features, good layout. Can adjust volume. Can edit video - keeping one continuous section at a time. Can simply convert by Device - Apple TV, iPod, DVD format, etc. Can use it to fix video errors - output format the same as input. Compile clips into one video as long as same frame size etc.

  Cons

  Not free - unless you can figure a way around only half of what joined or converted being saved. NOT the latest version. Version 6.4.1010 is available only via aone-soft.com: however the UVJ download is from a link that raises security flags! Fortunately, the Aone Video Splitter & Joiner Suite does not; when expanded, UVJ 6.4.1010 can be installed. The Quality Levels take some practice, 'Superb' leads to large file sizes appropriate for HD HQ input, not a youtube download.

  Summary

  "Professional video file joining tool" is a stretch - from the aone-soft UVJ page.

  It will join files and accept most every format.

  Cons

  Adds ugly motion artifacts to MP4 video files, even in "Superb" mode. Frequent audio sync issues

  Summary

  Ok for non critical file joining. I've been able to get past the audio sync issues by experimenting with the onboard decode engines. Overall though, there are too many compromises in the conversion.

  Does what I need, no bells & whistles, just join multiple files.

  It is excruciatingly sloooooow; took me about 3 hours to join 2 190mb files.

  Summary

  Using this util will be plan B, will be looking for another files joiner.

  If you need a video joiner, just get this one and don't bother trying many of the others. I have and they have not the quality production of this one.

  I only use it to join MP4/h264 clips (Sanyo) and it works perfectly.
