Publisher's description of TrueTech WebCam Personal Edition
From Camarades:TrueTech WebCam is a streaming audio/video application Webmasters can use to display live audio and video feeds without having viewers download any plug-ins. WebCam doesn't simply take a picture every minute and upload it to your server, it actually displays live views from a camera at up to 25 frames per second. Using WebCam's built-in scripting language, Webmasters can record clips directly on disk, create and insert video ads, and use logo overlays and time-lapse photography. WebCam's security options enable Webmasters to monitor the outgoing stream, keep track of connected users, and give permission or deny referrers using their IP address.
Compatible with most existing video capture cards, any camera or VCR that can connect to the video capture card can be used for passing content to the WebCam server.

Cons: the format has changed. it's now a porn site. it displays pictures of children on the same page as pictures from cameras showing nudity and sex. It used to be a nice place, but now it's just horrible.

"Not really what it says it is"
Pros: Installed quickly and without difficulty. Gives you your own web page. Worked well with my webcam.
Cons: Doesn't allow you to use webcam footage on your own website. Doesn't have a Record function which is what I wanted it for in the first place! Help documentation is badly organised and difficult to understand.

Summary: The product does not do what it says it will. If you want cam software to upload video to your own webpage/server this product is NOT for you.

"EXACTLY what I was looking for"
Pros: Works great. Posts to a website which does not require software. I didn't have to change my firewall. I checked off the "childproof" button and I don't get porn pictures. Took me all of 3 minutes to be up and running.
Cons: Refresh rate is only 1 frame per second, but it is FREE, so I don't mind.

"The product summary is FALSE!"
Summary: It doesn't let you upload pictures to YOUR personal web site. It only lets you upload them to THEIR web site. AND THEY PUT A WATERMARK ON YOUR PICTURE!!!
