"This is one "Trend Micro" product that I like."
Pros: This is a very useful tool, provided you know how to use it. It can locate malware others miss. It can be used to stop the process of an infected application or file and it's free. I'm glad "Trend Micro" acquired this product. If not for this acquisition, we wouldn't have it any more. It's 100% free of all types of infections regardless of what some others claim and works fine with "Vista".
Cons: No cons to it at all except it can be confusing to those who aren't familiar with how to use it use. You can slip and stop a needed process by accident.

"Much better than most I have tried!"
Pros: Easy to use! Gives detailed information and the tools to correct it. I used a certain M$ product before this which removed some registry entries I needed & it didn't give me an option as to what I did/did not remove, HijackThis does - thankfully!
Cons: Well just the same with most if not all of these kinds of applications, it is hard to tell what is legitimate and what isn't meaning you have to google entries. BUT you can send your results to people who know what is/should/shouldn't be in there.

Version: Trend Micro HijackThis beta 2.0
Pros: It doesn't contain a virus, it detects them.
Cons: A lot of antivirus programs will say HJT is a virus to generate false positives to make you think that they're doing a better job than the competition.

Version: Trend Micro HijackThis beta 2.0
Pros: This application has NO MALWARE. It has been scanned by VirusTotal, Ad-Aware SE Personal, AVG Anti-Rootkit, AntiSpyware and AntiVirus, Prevx, Spyware Doctor and System Mechanic and listed as OK. HJT is used to remove spyware and so can be considered legitimate.
Cons: Only two of the thirty-one virus scanners used in Virus Total detect it as a suspicious file (Panda) and a low risk threat (File Advisor).
