Pros: Trackmaina has allways been a excellent franchise from its first offering and right up to united, however trackmania nations forever is simply awesome, and thats offical
the graphics are brilliant, and has support for all shader models(nice touch) and even though i have just a modest 7600gt i can run this game at 1280x1024 and 16 x antianilising and max antistrpoic filtering giving me a average frame rate of 55fps
i dicovered this using the built in "benchmark" utility
but the most exciting part of this game is the cost..nothing,,so i must take my hat of to focus interactive for making this amazing game avalible to us at no cost,so from all us cnet users "thanks"
a amazing game !

What else can you expect from NADEO?!
by: waran4
on 27-Apr-2008 01:56:26 AM
Pros: Very cumtomisable craphics for the best performance. Over 1000 tracks to play on, 65 of them offline. Multiplayer up to... well, I haven't checked that yet, but I played with 118 players one time... Customise your car, paint it, stickers, everything, even the horn (WARNING: FOR PEOPLE WITH PROBLEMS WHEN LAUGHING, BE AWARE THAT CUSTOMISING THE HORN CAN BE RATHER FUNNY :D)
Its everything you need of a driving game!
Cons: Can get laggy with many players on the screen at the same time, but you can "tell" the game to only show a number of cars on the screen at the same time, so that sorta' evens out. You can get frustrated, especially when playing offline, since you play against a computer, and when you loose, you may get cranky for loosing against a computer over and over again.

TrackMania Nations Forever
Great racing game.

Pros: Great racing game, graphics can be good. Good multiplayer. And the car customizer can make some pretty slick cars. *Hint, black with light green, hint*
Cons: This is not lowering my rating as I am sure it is mostly me but this game didn't hold my interest for long. Many games I play unless their not like OMG This is the best game I ever played, I end up not playing them after the first couple of times.

TrackMania Nations Forever
Easy & Enjoyable to Play, but got impression I was playing against Bots
by: bdbranch

Pros: Easy to play, can be additive, graphics are fine (not landscape quality but quite functional), good variety in the game and fast & enjoyable. This game is probably the best racing game I've played recently & deserves to have more than it's cult following.
It's somewhat targeted at the younger audience with all the acrobatic tracks, however there are still plenty of options for us who enjoys proper racing.
Cons: At times the images of other players were jerky and annoying. Turning this off cured that. For some strange reason, despite being on track, my times were deemed to be invalid several times. Quitting ended up being the solution.
Won't go into details unless asked, however I got the distinct impression (by various patterns in play) that many of those who I was playing against were programmed bots.
There's too much fat in the game and if my suspicion about programmed bots is correct, cutting the fat would also enable the cutting of these bots.
