Lara's new quest brings her to lost ancient realms that guard Secrets of the Past. The revamped control system provides intuitive and fluid character movement, while the animation system puts focus on continuous motion, giving Lara the ability to seamlessly handle obstacles and interact dynamically with surfaces.

The demo offers a mission in Bolivia searching for a missing artifact.

Now, this Lara Croft is the Tomb Raider we remember! After a few lackluster adventures and a three-year absence, the brassy British heroine has finally returned, with more polygons and a brand-new game engine. The demo tosses Lara onto the cliffs of Bolivia, where she must use her wits, reflexes, and guns to retrieve a mysterious artifact. With impressive graphics and plenty of areas to jump, climb, and swing through, this demo is a must try for all adventure fans with the necessary system requirements.

The combat system is more advanced than in previous games. Though you still aim via automatic lock-on, Lara can now move around as she shoots, dancing and dodging bullets. She can also destroy specific parts of the environment that will crush enemies when timed correctly. Along with her new combat abilities, Lara has a few new gymnastic moves, including the ability to scamper along ledges, swing in full 3D, and move objects anywhere in the level.

Even though the demo only includes one level, it's a generous amount of content that allows for exploration, fighting, and basic puzzle solving. The graphics are tremendous--Lara has never looked better--and though camera angles are always an issue in third-person games, we rarely found ourselves stuck in corners. If you're a fan of the original or any of the sequels, this demo is well worth the download.

  Pros: i dont know how they do it but eidos keep on pumping out these great tomb raider games every year and they just get better and better

  the graphics are much improved,you can start seeing textures on lara and not the blocky face like in t/r 3,and the game dosent need a super-computer to run it ,i managed to get it to run on a p3 866mhz with 64mb g\force 2 mx graphic card and it ran quite smooth

  however i would recomend 512 to a gigabyte ram memory and at least a radeon 9250(128 or 256) to get the frame rates running really nice

  the control set-up is also good and very easy to set up if you are using a usb joystick or pad and you use the mouse for looking around

  the soundtrack is quite good as it gives the game that"cinematic"feel and helps you along with the game

  alltogether a stonkin good game and worth going out and buying it today

  Cons: the only problem i can see with this is that sooner or later lara croft is gonna have to have a kid to take over from her or we will be seeing "Tomb raider..o.a.p bus pass" as the next game ,she must be at least 38 now

  Tomb Raider: Legend demo

  Great sense of nostalgia while playing this game.

  Pros: A)This game is obviously superior to the past several titles in the series when you can recall your mother yelling at you for playing the first two.

  B)Controls are smooth and well done in comparison with many similar games on the market today.

  C)Graphics are quite nice and Lara's sharp polygonal cheek bones have vanished (brava).

  D)Music is quite good, it helps alot with the adventurous exploration feel of the game.

  D)Feels more like an adventure game again. One of the previous sequels (I can't remember which but I'm pretty sure it was on Dreamcast) had her running around halls hiding from guards and I felt that they were trying to emulate Metal Gear games and not do their own thing. This game however has its own distinct styling much like the orginal playstation games did and that is something special. Despite her best efforts Angelina Jolie could not ruin this game for me, hooray!

  Cons: A)My friend told me this game will only be released on DVD roms and upon searching sites such as Amazon I have so far been unable to disprove this. My friend does not have a dvd drive on his PC and I'm sure many others don't either.

  B)Eidos cannot avoid the fact that the series is a little worn now (mainly their own fault for putting their fans through several deplorable sequels), and hardly any alterations they make to the series at this point can reinstate that initial coolness factor you experienced when picking up the first two titles. This being said if you haven't played any of the Tomb Raider titles and you have the oppurtunity of starting with this one or just playing Tomb Raiders 1, 2, and legend I would have to say your in for a great treat.

  Great Game - 5 Stars

  Pros: The game starts with a clip of Lara Croft, climbing up a mountain, jumping from ledge to ledge. You play One Mission - but it is quite long and there is plenty to do in that mission.

  The Controlls are easy to get used to, and the shooting sections work well with the controlls for climbing.

  You get to enter a temple like place in search of some treasure, folowing some dudes who paradrop in.During the mission you have to jump around on ledges and vines, shoot the enemies, dodge traps and solve puzzles.

  It shows off the game and gives you a great reason to buy it.

  Cons: The download is quite large, and if you have a slower connection speed it's not worth the hours it could take to download.

  Not a game you would play again and again, so once you complete it you may want to delete it.

  Lara Croft is HOT

  Pros: In this game, Lara Croft is hotter than previous Tomb Raiders and the movie as well. She's not only great looking, she has awesome moves as well. She jumps, climbs, swings, swims, and much more. Her combat abilities, the way she jumps and rolls in the air, is Matrix-like.

  This game has alot of similarities to the Prince of Persia games but is very different also. It has a amazon-archaeology theme to it. The enviornments are very detailed and beautiful. The puzzles are intuitive and you get to watch Lara move around while you're playing. I can't stress how awesome she is.

  The game runs very well given that you properly adjust the settings.

  If you're a fan of noteworthy action-adventure games like Prince of Persia, you're going to enjoy this game. Male or female, you're going to love Lara Croft one way or another.

  Cons: The demo is short and is a large 509MB download.

  When Lara speaks, her voice sounds kinda aged. Still, when she grunts while jumping around, Lara sounds youthful and sexy.

  Maybe this game resembles Prince of Persia TOO much. See for yourself.

  Much more playable...

  Pros: The incorporation of the mouse into the controls. This is the way the original TR should have been programmed! They finally got it right!

  The environments and characters are much more realistically rendered. Of course that is to be expected...no disappointments there.

  Lara has a lot more agility than previous versions. Her manuverability on the ledges and vertical chains is awesome - easy to get it right with just a bit of practice. The vines- very nice. Tarzan got nothin' on Lara.

  The realistic way she can drag or push the blocks and cages around. This is great. Its like watching a real person actually shove, tug, and drag these things around!

  The fulcrum/See-saw object she can use.

  This is a neat addition...I experimiented with this in the large room just before the demo was over.

  The water effects and shadows are cool too, but they aren't all that appreciable when you are really playing the game...only when checking out the environment. In other words, its pretty much window dressing, When you drive the car, you don't check out the sceneray...you watch the road. Its nice that there are plenty of "rest stops" in this game to trully appreciate its environment.

  Aside from my gun/player related complaints, I'd have to say Lara is still Queen of the mountain in adventure games.

  I gotta say I'm waiting for the full version.

  Cons: I still don't like the interaction with the guns. Its allways been lacking in the TR titles, but it seemed better in the original title.

  You can't manually aim her very effectively at a medium ranged target. A combat pistol is generally used between 10 and 25 yards, but with careful aiming can hit out to 50yards. It seems Lara needs her glasses perscription checked, because no customized combat pistol is as inaccurate as hers are.

  An assualt rifle is generally used effectively by anyone with proficiency from 100 to 400 yards. Not so in this game. There should be a "sniper mode" for any gun fired at a target farther away than 50 yards- the rifles especially.

  It seems Lara's weapons are far less accurate than her opponents even when she is using the same gun they are! This isn't fair, but it is common in a lot of games. Of course her opponents are all meat heads so its not really that big a deal.

  As far as the shooting goes - Medal Of Honor, Allied Assualt - this ain't.
