Editor's review of Titan Quest demo
This demo doesn't have much back story, but apparently the Titans, who gave birth to the classical gods of Greek and Roman mythologies, have escaped their eternal prison to wreak havoc on the Earth, and you must stop them. The most obvious indication of their troublemaking is the existence of countless satyrs and undead creatures aiming to tear your hero limb from limb. The quests and subquests in the Titan Quest demo will easily keep you occupied for several hours, but the game will need a very intriguing story line to entrance gamers who aren't already tired of standard hack-and-slash gameplay.
Titan Quest includes a linear plot, but your character development is personalized by the class and skills you decide to master. The demo allows access to three classes, Warrior, Hunter, and Earth master, and we highly recommend the latter, which allows for the coolest attacks. Killing creatures and completing quests get you experience. Those experience points, of course, translate into level increases, which allow you to increase characteristics such as Strength, Intelligence, and Dexterity and improve the skills in your area of mastery. As mentioned, the 495MB demo includes several hours of free gameplay, but it's up to you whether you want to defeat those countless bands of pesky satyrs.
