Version: Time and Chaos 5.6.10
Pros: This is well worth trying out. I got this program for my small company. It's works wonderfully on our network and it handles everything we need done, efficiently and without a lot of bother. Contact manager, scheduler, you name it, this does it.
It might not be the best ever, but it's sure the best of many that we tried. The price is right and the functionality is there. Support, the few times we've needed it, was quick and effective. We're up to version 7, Chaos Intellect, now.
Cons: Haven't found anything.

Version: Time and Chaos 5.6.10
"Good front end, significantly weakened by notes facility"
Pros: Very user friendly front end, you can be up and running within minutes. As you continue to use the program its value can be seen. However, if you're using this as a serious CRM program, you soon hit the problem of the notes - see below.
Cons: Having bought T&C to use for running my links with customers, I soon hit the limitation in the program, that of its notes. If you're looking for business level CRM don't buy this, the notes soon fill up and you're left with having to cut and past into a RTF or Word document.
Having contacted T&C about this, their response was as follows:
The limitation on the attached notes has been in place since the creation of the program. Technically, every record within Time & Chaos is allowed a specific amount of space within the database. The attached notes, along with the other data within the record, simply can not exceed this requirement.
What this means is expanding this limit would require a major overhall of the database and (more importantly) every single one of our users would need to go through a conversion process to convert their old data to the new "expanded" format. With this in mind we feel the current limit is reasonable and the ability to link the contact to a number of todo and appointment records with their own notes and the ability to save any note as a text file and link to that file is reasonable as well.
As you can imagine, there are currently no plans to change these limits in the near future. A change like this would, as mentioned, require a different database structure and although this is not completely out of the question for a future version, is not something that can be readily implemented into the current generation of Time & Chaos.
A very, regrettable response. This software is friendly, very easy on the eye but, as you can see from their response, nothing is going to be done about this significant limitation. Now I'm looking for a replacement which I regret as in every other way I would recommend this without question. But if you want a serious CRM program, then look elsewhere.
