Publisher's description of Gothic 3 demo
From Aspyr Media:You have saved the island Khorinis from the forces of evil in Gothic I and Gothic II. Now it is time to travel to the realms of the mainland. Invading Orcs have enslaved the human kingdom. There are but a few free humans in the icy north and the southern desert and a handful of rebels hiding in the forests and mountains of Midland.
You may either join the rebellion or serve the Orcish Usurpers but you will ultimately tip the scales and decide the outcome of the last war to save humanity.
There is no simple linear story in Gothic III every game will be different and unique but all will ultimately lead to you deciding the fate of Myrtana.
This demo lets you play the beginning area of the game, including the towns of Ardea and Cape Dun and the Rebel outpost Reddock with no restrictions.
Note: To play the Gothic 3 demo, you must have the DirectX 9.0 Redistributable included installed.

Version: Gothic 3 demo
"Keep your eye on this one... after a few patches"
Pros: I thought the environment was interesting. There's the day/night cycle, the "food chain" where animals hunt each other, you know, that RPG stuff. It felt alot like Oblivion with more of a story line. I didn't have much trouble on my rig: GeForce 6600 128MB, 1GB RAM, P4 3.2Ghz. Ran on whatever default settings it put me in; I didn't bother to change it. Sort of looked like 1024x768 no AA, no idea about anything else.
Cons: I thought the interface was very simple, but then at other times, it was poorly explained. The Game Tips aren't useful and usually showed up during combat blocking my way of seeing an enemy. If you do get blocked by those tips, you don't really die. You just fall over, breathe heavily, drop whatever you had and respawn again to get killed. I was a bit confused with the levelling up... I'm guessing it's like Oblivion. Was pretty smooth but there were these weird pauses that occurred for no apparent reason in some places... other places there were pauses where it was obviously loading a new area or something.

Version: Gothic 3 demo
Pros: I like the style of this game. There is pretty easy learning curve to get you in the and be on your way exploring the vast world. There is ton of monsters, caves, treasures, and charters to meet on your adventure. People dissing probably didn't get to play it much or Have a slower computer (which will make you have more loading pauses). I have an older system with a P4 3.GHz and a Radon X800xp and I had to turn down the Graphic to low to smooth out the game. You could play the demo for 2 days straight. The Demo lets you get a good feel of the game. You can travel to 3 different town and there is no time limit. I got up to level 15 and killed the two dragons in the caves. I've just played the demo but Plan to buy the Game.
Cons: The Game does have some bugs. Also I wish it did bog down my system a much so I could enjoy the graphic setting on high. I give it 4 stars but as far a demos go it gets 5

"Gothic 3 is awesome, but lots of bugs!!!"

Version: Gothic 3 demo
Pros: I can't really understand today's gamers. They play a game for 10 minutes and think they have the freedom to criticize it without having tested it yet. The game is just great. If you play the real stuff and not the demo, you will get what I am saying.
1)The world is vast, gigantic and ten times more realistic than the Oblivion's( and I am a fan of this game)
2)Uncountable Npc's where they have different tasks to do every day and not just eat, walk, sleep.
3)Over 650 amazing quests. If you are interested in getting inside the game and not just go around killing creatures like the fellow above, you are going to love it.
4)A non linear story. Player can choose 3 possible endings and just do whatever he wants
5)Great landscapes, amazing soundtrack and
a huge variety of creatures
6)Complete freedom. Player can hunt, sell trophies, sleep, trade, train, kill, explore without any limits etc
7)Improved battle engine
8)Over 150 hours of gameplay
Cons: The game has many bugs.
Thanks to Piranha Bytes, there are 3 patches released that solve 95% of the problems.
If you don't download and apply them, you will be really pissed off with the title.

Version: Gothic 3 demo
"Buggy with slippery controls"
Pros: ???
Cons: Slippery controls, system recommendation is higher then those of which out preform this game both in performance and visuals, very vague quest direction, graphics werent much. Although, its not a Oblivion knock off it just tried to be as good as it was ( well sorta, Oblivions storyline was only 20 hours and its quest werent that great, Morrowind > Oblivion/Gothic3 ). Not worth the download imho.
