Can't get enough election news? This RSS headline ticker may help feed your need.
The Election 2008 Political Ticker scrolls headlines across the top of your screen (by default) while you work or play. You can move it elsewhere if you prefer; you also can configure the feeds it grabs from a preloaded list (including YouTube, FoxNews, Dems Gone Wild, GOP Podcasts, and others) that pops up when you first launch the application. The white text on the black background of the ticker bar stands out nicely.
The tool performed well during our tests, opening a story site in our default browser when we clicked a headline. Unfortunately, some of the preloaded links appeared to be dead. We liked that we could increase the size of the ticker for easier reading, and that it displayed a list of the stories open in browser windows under the scrolling text. We didn't like that it opened a new window for each new story--opening a new tab would be preferable and lead to less screen clutter.
Aside from the multiwindow issue, this free application will make any political news junkie happy.
