Window Washer washes away your online and offline computer activities, giving you more privacy and increasing your PC's performance. It cleans areas such as the cache, cookies, file history, and Registry items. Window Washer offers customizable features that let you control what gets washed and what stays. This program also gives you the ability to schedule washes of your system when it's most convenient for you.
Version 6.5 is now Windows Vista compatible, it can be set to clean your computer on a regular schedule, and it securely removes files using government standards.

- "Window Washer cleans all"
This program offers a fast and simple way to protect your privacy by erasing Web browsing and application history. Upon launch, the program automatically scans your PC for supported applications, including such commonplace ones as Adobe Acrobat and RealPlayer.
Clicking the Wash Now button literally leaves your browser's cache, cookies, the history, and the temporary files list as clear as the day Windows was first installed. If you want more control, you can specify exactly what components to clean via the Wash Setup icon. Webroot Window Washer doesn't display detailed information about specific files, but it does give you a list of basic statistics. You can protect the program with a password and schedule cleaning sessions at regular intervals.
The ability to wipe free disk space according to secure algorithms is a bonus, but it would be nice if the program also could shred files and folders. In the final analysis, Webroot Window Washer has very few flaws, making it a fine pick for anyone concerned with privacy issues.

"Nothing wrong with this program."
Pros: I'm curious about the person who claims "stay away if you have Vista", because I have "Vista Home Premium" and had it for 7 months. This program has never caused me any heartache at all. As long as you take a few minutes to check and double check the program settings it's a good program. Same with any program of this type. A couple weeks ago, I installed version 6,5 and updated it to version 5,5,655 and have had no problems with it at all.
Cons: I'm not sure I like "Webroots" purchasing method with this program. Theres no activation code. You buy it and they send you a download link to your full version. If you do buy a copy, save the installer to some type of external drive or disk.

"GREAT program worth every cent... except the last one"
Pros: wipe 1,3,7 and 35 times, 118 gbs is almost an hour for each pass with a 5200rpm sata harddrive
Cons: does not wipe individual files or folders

Pros: keeps windows cleaned up, it can be set to clean at intervals. custom wash, set up what you want. cleans free space, lets you make a nuke disk. keeps my vista OS running perfectly.
