"does what it says"

Pros: easy and fast interface, friendly. Several voices. One works very realistic. really free

Cons: dont work in other folder than the main programs folder (c:) (i have winXP)
would be nice if it could read other text formats.

"Excellent. Even allows you to disable pronouncing of dashes."

Pros: It's free and works very well. Has a large buffer. Allows you to edit pronunciations. I haven't seen that in a free version.

Cons: Sometimes wish it would highlight the whole word as it's reading.

"Excellent ... Even supports premium voices"

Pros: Easy to use ... just CTRL+C and it starts reading.
Can use "premium voices" like AT&T Natural Voices or NeoSpeech.
It's free!

"This is a great text to speech reader with mp3 capability."

Pros: I love the mp3 capability and the many free voice choices. I have this on a Windows 98 machine and an XP and it works great on both. I needed this for a blind friend, and this will open a whole new world to him. FANTASTIC and free.

Cons: It was a bit hard to install on my xp machine, but customer service was great and we got it going in no time. I'm not sure how large a file it will handle, as I am still experimenting, but overall a great product!
