Formerly known as the Matrix Reloaded 3D Screensaver, this amazingly popular, 3D screensaver displays the Matrix code in eye-popping 3D. As the code falls and swirls in amazing 3D, it also forms pictures from the movies The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, and The Matrix Revolutions. Heaps of configuration options help sculpt it to your liking, including a configurable countdown timer, a clock (24- and 12-hour modes), 3D and 2D code displays, 3D rotations, mouse-controlled rotation, code density, glyph size, code colors, code movement (forward and sideways), fall speed, the ability to turn pictures on and off, picture captioning, picture scaling, picture delays, sound effects, and music.

Although there's nothing revolutionary about Matrix Trilogy 3D Code Screensaver, it is free and packed with customization options. As in earlier versions of Matrix screensavers, you'll see the familiar green computer code run down the screen, though you can easily change the color of the characters. Where this program stands out is its feature set. You can choose to display a clock, as well as pictures from all three films in the series. You'll also find settings for changing the size of the glyphs and the rotation and speed of the code. The theme music is better than many other MIDI-based soundtracks we've heard, but you always can disable both the music and sound effects. Fans of the Matrix flicks who have spent all their money at the theaters will probably enjoy this screensaver.

  "Eh, Don't Bother"

  Pros: Great settings control and visuals.

  Cons: They have their logo on the bottom right of the screen at all times. Kind of takes away from the whole "Matrix" experience. Plus its just plain tacky.

  "good, but a bit laggy"

  Pros: Nicely animated, cool graphical effects and a lot of config options

  Cons: lags a bit on a mid end system, the logo is annoying and ruins the effect, the interface for config is slow, you cant change the number of glymphs, and the sounds are just annoying!

  Pros: WORKS FOR VISTA, OTHERS WONT

  Cons: DISPLAYS AD IN SCREEN SAVER, ALSO SETTINGS ARE NOT SAME, HAVE TO USE WHAT OPTIONS ARE PART OF THE AD SCHEME

  "The better your PC, the better it is."

  Pros: What this has over other Matrix screen savers is the clean vibrant color of the 3D Matrix code cascading down the screen instead of some cheap GIF or other animation.

  Having this on your monitor makes your PC look powerful.

  Cons: Anything below an average PC is gonna make this laggy and annoying. And it starts up with an ad from the creator directing you to their site. This only lasts a few seconds, but it comes back every once in a while. (at least it in Matrix code, so it fits in, unlike a pop-up)
