From YaSoft: Switch Off is a tiny, easy-to-use, tray-based system utility that can automatically perform various frequently used operations such as shutting down or restarting your computer, disconnecting your current dial-up connection, and locking your workstation. It also provides fast access to these operations through the system-tray icon. It has a fully customizable Web interface that allows you to initiate operations remotely from any computer with a Web browser installed. The Web interface includes WAP support, so you can control your computer from a mobile phone. This utility is intended to be used by either a novice or a professional user, because of its intuitive interface and professional features. Professional features include command-line support, and a silent install option. Version 2.3 includes numerous code optimizations and fixes all known bugs.

This handy program is a PC timer that can shut down, log off, or force your computer to hibernate. It works either as a countdown timer, or set up like an alarm clock. When the proper time is reached, SwitchOff shuts down all open applications and performs its task. You can configure it to operate daily, weekly, or for a single occurrence. The interface is basic, but well organized. It features a small memory footprint and stable operation. A simple Web interface allows you to operate it from anywhere on the Internet. You can set it to operate minimized on the desktop or as a Windows service. Anyone needing a PC timer will find this program a useful addition to their system.

  Excellent - like autmomated shut down system

  Pros: Set to shut down computer at any time during day or night, or do it from anywhere on the internet or on your phone. Can also be set to restart, stand by, or hibernate. Great for people who leave their computers on 24/7 but would like to save some power, so they set it to shut down during the night. Free too!

  Cons: Future changes - maybe more attractive interface that goes more with classic windows theme, and also options to change the time display, because right now it only does military time, an option for standard time would be great.

  Works Every Time!

  Pros: It's very nice to be able to have your PC shut off by itself at a set time. This program lets you set a time, ANY time for your PC to either Shutdown, Restart, Log Off, Lock, Hangup, Standby or Hibernate. You can tell it to run at startup, silently in the background and you can also set a custom message that appears when your computer is about to turn off, giving you a time limit to click the button of your choice, and the option to do it later. (If you're still working.) For example, I have mine to shut off at 1:00 AM. So if you go on vacation or leave the house and accidentally left your computer on, then you won't have to worry. It'll shut itself off every time! I highly recommend this program for anyone to try! (And yes, it's low on Memory.)

  Pros: Does what it says with minimum system resource. This is a simple application which will effectively shut down (or restart, hibernate, etc) your PC whenever you want. Can be remotely controlled from any computer or even mobile phone but you can disable the web interface to make it a simple tall. Works well, reliable and safe. Also totally free!

  Cons: There's no 'help' menu.

  Programs shut offs swiftly

  Pros: Whenever I run a defrag, anti-spyware, anti-virus and don't want to wait for results but have to turn off my pc, this software is what I use.

  Its has been unchanged for a lot of time but it works perfectly well.
