The latest version includes a separate spyware database for better, faster spyware detection; intelligent reporting that indicates threat levels of pests detected and advises appropriate action; custom selection of what pests to detect; and the Control Terminal, which provides easy access to all modules via your system tray. The new version includes many security updates and improvements, bug fixes, and more spyware definitions.

Though it offers more security-scanning and spyware-removal features than you can shake a stick at, SurfSecret PestPatrol's trial restriction limits its usefulness in the fight against adware. This program finds and removes spyware, adware, Trojan horses, keyboard-logging applications, and anything else that remotely looks as if it might be monitoring your system. We especially like how the interface gives you a risk level for each entry it finds and explains how it compromises your privacy. An online-update feature keeps SurfSecret PestPatrol current with the latest invasion threats. Multiple configuration options can be chosen to exclude certain types of files, set up automatic scans, and quarantine or delete suspicious files. A thorough, built-in database gives you much-needed basic information about the types of threats out there. However, since this program won't remove any of the offenders it finds, we can't be as enthusiastic about it as we'd like. If you're comfortable digging into your registry to manually remove threats, SurfSecret PestPatrol might make a quality download.
