Editor's review of Super Popup Blocker
Although it provides decent protection from pop-ups, this program does a terrible job of detecting and removing adware. In our tests, Super Popup Blocker was mostly effective at quashing ads, although it did let a few through. Settings allow the program to start along with Windows, block Messenger pop-ups, and produce a beep when it finds and blocks a pop-up. Other standard features include a blacklist and a whitelist. Super Popup Blocker also includes a simple utility for erasing your Web surfing and Windows activities. The program's adware tool didn't fare nearly as well as its other functions. We installed a number of well-known malware components that even the simplest adware-detection tool should be able to ferret out. Alas, Super Popup Blocker didn't find a single one of them, forcing us to remove the offenders with another program. If you need a simple pop-up blocker, this program will do, but don't rely on its adware feature.
