Publisher's description of Stick Soldiers II
From Andrewrussellstudios:
If you liked Stick Soldiers 1, then you're going to love this one. Some improvements include great mod-ability--you can actually change weapon values, and create new ones, and make and edit your own bots. The game also has better graphics; now the camera moves with your soldier. Plus, there are cool special effects. The game has tons of mods, maps, sounds, weapons, and stuff to download. The only disadvantage is it's not playable online.

Editor's review of Stick Soldiers II
Similar in theme and focus to Unreal Tournament, but artistically much closer to Kingdom of Loathing, Stick Soldiers II evokes the charm of a grade-school doodle with relatively engaging action. You are a "stick" soldier who hops around, collecting weapons, ammunition, health rewards, and armor while shooting at other stick soldiers. The game's major issue is its lack of help file or in-game tutorial. By trial and error during testing we were able to figure out certain controls (spacebar for "shoot," CTRL for "crouch") but never could reload our weapons, for example. Perhaps we were having an off day, but we never managed to kill an enemy as we were more occupied with trying to piece together how to move our reluctant stick soldier. That said, those avid soldiers with plenty of patience may enjoy the basic action and charming design of this freeware shooter game.

Stick Soldiers II
Has the skill of Halo in a 2D stand off inviroment.

Pros: Yes the controls are tricky and you get your butt handed to quite a few times. Thanks to shogunu we all know what the editors didn't. Thanks. This is the most addictive free PC game I have ever downloaded. If you have the pactience will love this game for it Halo calibor difficulty and skill.
Cons: Hard to grasp at first. Youll lose several times. Recommend that you only fight against one or zero opponents. Until you figure out all the controls. Some levels opponents will commit suicide enough by falling off the playing field that you will win no matter how bad you are as long as you dont do the same.

Pros: Simple, clean graphics; lots of fun
Cons: No help text, no key customization, the keys, btw, are as follows:
Arrow Keys --- Move/Aim,
Right Alt --- Jump,
Space Bar --- Shoot Weapon,
B --- Use Secondary,
N & M --- Switch Weapon,
Right CTRL --- Crouch,
0 --- Use jetpack,
Z --- Drop jetpack,
X --- Slow-motion,
F12 --- Take Screenshot,
G --- Turn on Collision Detection System,
Tilde (~) --- Use console,
Tab --- Toggles active text. For FFA, also toggles frag count and names of Bots

Stick Soldiers II
What? A Liero mod? Heck No!
by: Zantalo

Pros: Point -- Like Liero, game is very cool and fast paced with action. Quite a few games to play and can be either teamed or FFA. A pretty sophisticated set of controlls with the neat option of ejecting your jetpack like a bomb(z). Enemies have simple but cool stratigies of attack and retreat and, even camping and close quarters combat. weapons are all different and the sniper rifle has the unique function of the zoom into lazer option (b). All enemies respond to what you do and will often type to you with basic taunts and emotions. You can have your helmet blown off and even your head plus, if you are decapited, you can find yours or quickly pop off someone elses for your own. You can grab extra armor and shots to bring back your health.
Cons: Couner-Point -- Enemies are too hard and the game goes too fast. Beginers should play the first days using bullet time(x). No where can I find the controls to this game so, many times I just had to just run my fingers across the keyboard to see what would happen. Bullet time only slows game speed so aiming can be frusterating and right when you exit it, the computer imedietly starts to dominate and so slow-mo becomes the only way to play the game. The sticks jump a little too low or too high, that you will have to waste time jumping up and down over every step(most apparent in bullet time). Levels are way too simple and will usually be played only once. This game will get old really fast and very easily so don't think to much of the pros. (alt=jump space=shoot Ctrl=crouch n=change weapons B=scope Z=eject-jetpack Insert=Jetpack x=slow-mo)
