This program may lack a wealth of features, but it's extremely effective in protecting your computer against home-page hijacking. StartPage Guard uses a simple but functional interface to prevent Trojan horses or other malicious programs from making unauthorized changes to your browser's start and search pages. Options include the ability to select your home page from a drop-down menu or input a URL of your choice. The SearchPage Guard feature lets you designate separate URLs for your default search page, search toolbar, and search assistant. Users also can set one URL in the Single Address field to cover all search functions. This simple but useful program is designed for all users who want to outsmart malicious programs that hijack start and search pages.

  StartPage Guard

  Perfect protection against malware

  Pros: Protects your startpage at any time and also your search pages are safe now.

  Easy interface and easy to use.

  Cons: When you select "Check when Windows start" it does so automatically.

  I tried to turn it off. But most of the time it just came back.

  I think I finally managed to turn it off.

  That's the only minor con that I could find.
