This single-player demo for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War lets you lead the Space Marines in a full early campaign level. The demo also contains two skirmish maps and a tutorial mode. In skirmish play players get to hone their space marine strategies against the computer AI.

Version: Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War demo
"Anyone who has been waiting for Starcraft II can stop waiting"
Pros: Everything is here. The graphics are eye popping. The gameplay is exceptional. The interface is easy to use. The sounds and voices are excellent. The story seems to be pretty good too although I haven't really played much to say for sure. There seems to be plenty of multiplayer games and plenty of ways to get a game going. I can't find anything wrong with this game. Blizzard couldn't do it any better than this.
Cons: The only con is the relatively short campaign. However even this is offset by the terrific skirmish games. In skirmishes, you simply pick which race you want to play and you pick which map and then the computer will randomly pick an opponent or you can pick your opponent and the game begins. You can of course save a replay of any game and play it back to see what you did right and what you did wrong.

Version: Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War demo
"It you liked C&C:Generals or Starcraft you should like this game."
Pros: Its a very fun game.
It has a great graphics engine. If I'm not mistaken is the same engine as C&C Generals, which is why I say people who liked that game will like this one. It feels exactly the same.
As far as the Starcraft element, the whole in-game interface resembles Starcraft, as well as the gameplay...two different mineral types, max unit limits, a building for walking units, a building for vehicles.
Lets you selected unlimited numbers of units, though...this is something Starcraft didn't let you do...limit 12 in starcraft.
Good story in the single player.
The music is good...now just to find a way to convert the music files into something I can listen to in WinAMP...stupid .fda files which I extracted from the game data files!
Cons: No flying units. Everything is ground based. The only flying element comes with a couple walking units which have the ability to "jump"...which is good for passing valleys and stuff. All other units can't fly, and there isn't a flying transport unit!
Stupid music files are .fda files, and it looks like I will be spending some time figuring out how to extract them. Considering this is probably the same engine as C&C:Generals, it would have been nice if the music was provided as OGG like C&C:Generals provided :P.
Unit limits...C&C Generals let you build infinite units. This game has some serious hard limits on the unit count. They try to redeem this with the fact that they separate walking unit limits from vehicle unit limits, as well as letting the walking units build in squads. The walking units take up 2 units against the max, but they start as 4 units from the building which you can expand to 8. Its a nice original way of providing walking units, but I would still prefer the old-school way of doing it with unlimited building rights.
No abilities whatsoever to "capture" enemy units. Starcraft, Total Annhilation and a host of other RTS games let you do this.
The game is still mad fun though. So I do recommend you try it.

Pros: - the campaign is very engulfing and has cut scenes before and after every mission.
- The preloader is awesome
- graphics are beautiful
- It's unique. Unlike other RTS games, in this game, you build squads instead of just a single unit. These squads can be reinforced by building more units attached to the squad.
-Has 4 different races with the orks as very good comic relief in the game.

"/worship. Easily the best RTS available today."
Pros: This game has finally brought the Warhammer 40K universe to the PC after several big flops *cough*Fire Warrior*cough*. While it eliminates the need to harves resources, it pacifies "dirt farmers" bay forcing the player to watch his/her resources. More tactically-minded gamers enjoy the ability to gain resources by holding strategic objectives. The game also caters to tabletop fans (like me) by including an "Army painter" to customize your Space Marines.
This game has and excellent squad-based mechanic, and though you cannot micromanage your units, it isn't really necessary. The squad-damage system is odd, but realistic and forces battles to be fought on a scale similar to that of the tabletop game. An impressive show of "ragdoll physics" is present, but units conduct their fights realistically rather than enacting generic "hack and slash" anims. beautiful graphics, though a wee bit (read: very) gory.
Cons: capturing a strategic point (control and resource node) takes an entire squad out of the game for too long. the game forces the player to work with small forces in different areas rather than hordes of low-level units. pulling an entire, ranked-up squad out of the action to capture a location is a pain in the ass. The game also lacks the capacity to use drop pods to deploy units anywhere on the battlefield, so that you are effectively constructing from a building, with drop pods and dropships nothing but pretty stuff. but oh, wht pretty pretty stuff!
bottom line: Get this game. You won't be disappointed. "Inquisitor=][=woolymarmot" is watching.
