  Pros: To begin with the options are very easy to grasp, i like the way you get 3 types of scans, the "intelli-scan" is class, grabs those little nasty cookies no bother. I like the way you can go to "settings/scheduled tasks" and decide when you want an automated scan to start, very simple! It doesn't hog the system as like before, the updates also you have different options. My kids play games a lot and it picks up those little hackers trying to jump on my IE7 browser. All in all just great!

  Cons: Well if you want the "Free" version you need to install the Google updater, bit of a pain but hey ho. Also in the Free version the "on guard protection" is limited, but hey it's Free so can't have all ways can we? But on a tiny sour note, my AVG Free antispyware grabbed a few nasty cookies this missed, not a problem as i clean my tracks with Ccleaner when i'm done anyway!

  New version 5.5 did not work on my computer!

  Pros: Previous free version from Google pack worked extremly well.

  Cons: new version was dead on arrival, just did nothing. Had to be uninstalled and it was quite a chore. This seems to be the case with newer versions of many of the spyware classics like adaware, new but the opposite of improved. Should have at least but a beta label on the program so you have the option of remaining with the older version until the bugs are removed. I returned to spyware terminator.

  Cons: Downloaded Spyware doctor.It stated that I have downloaded it before and my trial period is over...ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh???????

  I cannot use any function at all......

  I have a clone out there somewhere.Ground control to major Tom.Anyone out there?

  Had to uninstall.

  The best antispyware in freeware

  Pros: The user interface is pretty simple and the basic functions like scan, real-time and on-guard protection are in the middle of it. The scan speed is very high, the choice is amongst a variety of scans as intelli, full or custom. Rootkit detection and removal for free like in Threat Fire. High detection rate with a very large signature database. The update is frequent. This is freeware. You should all consider using this Google pack freeware with Norton AV scan, also included in the pack. Try installing PCTools Threat fire and/or PCTools Antivirus, which are both freeware and pretty good as the antivirus(es). You won't regret it and here we are with the complete computer protection costing us nothing! In the end don't turn off the Kernel compatibility mode in Spyware Doctor which helps more security programs get along together.

  Cons: I think the real-time and on-guard protections slow down PC somehow and prolong the startup of the machine. The detection rate should improve. I have checked SpyEmergency, for example that has more than 900.000 signature files in it's database. Btw, the last one is not freeware but anyways...

  Pros: thankfully it was free!!

  Cons: This software lasted only 3 hours on my computer ! This version is just as bad as the old one. Its very heavy on your cpu , it hogs your computer and slows things down badly! It also started to change settings of certain other programmes ie spyware blaster and the advanced windows care v2, that was the final straw! Also please me tell why have so many functions installed when you can't even use them???!! Unless you of course upgrade to the paid version ! Don't waste your time with this limited software there are other free full working software out there eg Spyware terminator which is pretty good and includes real time protection as standard.
