This application is great for those who want to know exactly how their computer is infected and the best ways to get rid of particularly nasty spyware components. Spy Cleaner Gold stands out in the spyware-removal field, but you'll have to pay for the quality. A slick interface sports controls similar to its competitors, offering options for scanning your drives and Registry, updating online, and saving the last, best system set-up as a backup. Scanning is fairly quick compared to other programs in the category. We especially like the way this application displays results, separating different kinds of adware and spyware into categories so we know in what manner our computer is infected. We also appreciate that this program calls out spyware that it cannot remove, directing us to alternate removal methods. While it faces challenges from excellent freeware programs, the added categorization and honesty when dealing with nasty infections makes Spy Cleaner Gold a worthwhile purchase.

  "There are a select few worth having."

  Pros: There are only a few spyware programs that are worth a hoot. This is the best one. Second is Spybot, then i suppose AD-Aware (although that one seems to keep bringing up the same things so that is why its third. I havnt used it much but GIANT seems to be pretty good too. I was going to try alot to see which ones are the best, but honestly, as good as the best three or four are (and they ARE these three or four), why keep looking. Spycleaner is the one to take if you only use one, but if you are goint to sue two or three use, in this order, 1. Spycleaner Gold, 2. Spybot, 3. Ad-Aware.... nuf said

  "Don't buy it!"

  Pros: The trial version worked really well. So I bought it.

  Cons: Wish I hadn't, I purchases through Element5 website, downloaded it to find the installer would not run (wrong file size for the install), contacted them and the sent me another link, still same thing "contact vendor" they said. OK so contacted topdownloads and got told, OK give us 2-3 days. Nothing. £11.95 for vapour ware. Needless to say I'll be getting in touch with my credit card company....
