  Pros

  Good software, efficient, provides a lot of important information, I would prefer to display on my screen only the section of the temperatures without the rest around and it is not possible. It worked for me in the past on Vista, has been working on Windows 10 for several months, there are no problems except that the software does not have the option of 'run at startup' and should use Task Scheduler for this purpose.

  Grabs a lot of screen space, running through other software.

  Summary

  Recommended Despite the disadvantages, there is no better software.

  My HP laptop was getting too hot constantly and my computer engineer advised me to find this kind of program online. I found SpeedFan and it worked PERFECTLY!

• Blue screen on startup for v4.52 on Windows Vista

  Tried to run SpeedFan 4.52 on Sony Vaio AR laptop running windows Vista with all system updates. Gives blue screen consistently as SpeedFan starts to load. Four tries -- always the same. Maybe my computer is just too old... Earlier version ran ok on my machine.

• Great for Causing Lengthy Hangs and Crashes

  An excellent bit of software for freezing your computer and causing it to hang for minutes on end for no reason.

  Doesn't appear to do anything other than cause lengthy hangs.

  The first time I ran this it caused the computer to hang so thoroughly that I couldn't even open task manager to kill the damn thing. I assumed this was because I was rendering at the time and the CPU was at 100% usage so it wouldn't be unfair for a program not to respond. Apparently this had nothing to do with it though. When I finally managed to close Speedfan and regain control of my computer I ran it again without my CPU being at full load. It did exactly the same thing. This time it only took a couple minutes to close it rather than five though. It seems to hang whilst scanning for something or other and the only way of making it stop is to kill the process.

  Accurate displays the temperature sensors in your PC chassis, cpu and gpu.

  Cons

  Doesn't actually control the fan speed of any of the fans in said chassis. Find another program if your looking to control fan speed. Also the interface is way to convoluted.

  Pros

  My computer, of late, had several times died. It did not shut down or power down, it just died. I had noticed, of late, that the area around the touch pad was VERY hot. I looked for a utility to show me what was going on, and tried SpeedFan, When I run it, it showed that everything was on fire. A trip to the tech, and it's much better now.

  Helps to know all your fans' speed to see if they are over working and getting too hot especially when overclocking.

  It could load malware if not careful and decline all the optional requests. It's better to get it from filehippo.com
