From Spacejock Software: Sonar is a manuscript submission tracking program. This program tells you which market has each story, whether a story has been sold or rejected, and which stories are gathering dust instead of earning their keep. You are able to view a list of all of your stories and then filter them in various ways. Version 2.0.49 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Have a mind for mystery plots but not a clue about organization? This basic but useful database program for writers helps keep track of story submissions and how many have been sold. The interface is simple and straightforward, organizing lists of stories by status (for instance, completed and ready to send, sold, or under submission.)

You also can view the entire story list. While Sonar acts as a good file cabinet, it still makes you do most of the work. To create an entry, you have to fill in all the information yourself (it won't pull files automatically from a folder, for example.) One considerable drawback is you can't search stories by name.

We would love to see a reminder system built into Sonar, to alert if a story is due or a deadline is approaching. The biggest advantage of Sonar is it's free--and for struggling writers working to make a living from their craft, that's a good thing indeed.
