From Netscape Communications: SmartDownload is a plug-in for Netscape browsers that is designed to assist you in downloading files from the Internet. It gives you the ability to pause and resume downloads, and to recover from a dropped Internet connection. SmartDownload has two components. The first is the SmartDownload Client, which displays the status of your download and gives you access to controls to pause, resume, and cancel it. The plug-in comes preconfigured so you can use it right away, but it also has advanced options that allow you to change its default settings.
