Shoutcast Server DNAS

Good for starters (read revew for more info on starting in DJing)

by: colbyson on 27-Jun-2007 08:32:10 AM

Pros: It is a good starting tool for learning about how broadcasters work. If you are interested it online DJing or radios, get this and use it until you know how servers work. Once you know how they work download SAM Broadcaster 3. SAM 3 is the best broadcaster I have used. I use it for DJing in a game Second Life. If you want to DJ a good starting place would be in the game Second Life. I find it to have great training for real life DJing.

Cons: The stream quality as not very good for marketing porposes. It is hard to confugure, and it uploads music with a long delay. That messes you up when you use a voice overlay.

Shoutcast Server DNAS

Great!

by: Dynamicadam on 23-Aug-2007 02:27:03 AM

Pros: FREE!

Effective,

Great once set up,

Ability to stream mike, line in etc. rather than just Winamp.

Cons: Not very user friendly,

Bad aesthetics,

You have to install a plugin if you actually want to broadcast rather than just downloading the server program.

Shoutcast Server DNAS

An ok intro program

by: The Xicano on 27-Jun-2008 08:23:21 AM

Pros: As others have said, this is not a bad program for entry level DJ or people that want to start to broadcast their own show.

Cons: The quality of stream is low and could be better. As others have said, setup can be a bit confusing but if you take time to read everything, it is straightforward.
