The AutoText feature in word-processing programs can be extraordinarily helpful for people who live at their keyboards. ShortKeys helps layer this autoreplace functionality on top of any program in which text is typed. It can automatically replace abbreviations with preset text; thus, a user might set tqb to be converted into The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog, if that's an oft-used expression. It can also automatically insert the current date, and contains a basic spell-checking tool. Unfortunately, it doesn't offer the helpful ready-made shortcuts Microsoft Word or other word processors often include. The utility has a fairly substantial memory footprint of 10MB, but for people who do considerable amounts of repetitive typing, it could quickly become an invaluable time- and finger-saver.

  That goes the same for me...can't live without it

  Pros: I make the words of the other users comments ...but supose this...

  only now you can make a full image of your hard drive in safety...

  but before that i have to rely on shortkeys to keep the serial numbers of all programs when i have no other option than to re-instal...it was wonderfut ll

  Even know it's impossible to make a clean image without forgeting something..or to re-setup the emails accounts...there's always something you forgot when you make the image...so the shortkeys helps what you forgot in the image...

  The editor gives the example of words abrev...but it gives you more...you can setup a full letter or different letters...imagine you have a CALL CENTER besides the ivr you have emails to answer ...clients ask you all the time the same questions and you can setup throw the shortkeys ALL THE SAME ANSWERS... in a second...

  It helped a great deal when i was a simple student and now helps me as a entrepreneur...it's unbelievable! trust me

  Cons: Since the begining this program as always the same problem... sometimes without any cause...it just stops to work! i asked a reason i they reply me it was a memory problem... it just need to press CTRL key...but that don't solve the problem.You have to close Shortkeys and re-open again...but right now it seems it is more stable...
