You can search your entire system if you like, from your local hard disk drive to Network, MS Outlook Express, MS Outlook, MS Exchange, Netscape Messenger, Eudora, IncrediMail or any other source and extract all of the email addresses.

This free application quickly digs up e-mail addresses from anywhere on your computer, although we ran into a few stability concerns during testing. Shark Email Extractor has a practical display for extracting e-mail addresses from any file, folder, or drive. After making your selection, simply click Scan, and all e-mail addresses located are displayed. The number of files and e-mail addresses found are also given, and you can save your list. Although Shark Email Extractor successfully returns addresses, the application locked up twice during our analysis, resulting in the dreaded Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Aside from its hang-ups, we think this easy-to-use program is a time-saver in compiling mailing lists.

  Shark Email Extractor

  Just about works but chokes on large files.

  Pros: Works if files are small

  Cons: Has two fundamental programming errors: 1) No yield statements so hogs tehprocessor 2) hogs virtual memory instead of loading files in small chunks. The effect on a user is that it grinds to a halt if your mailbox is over a certain size. Good idea and nicely free. Badly programmed. ...Author please fix it! You already did the hard part surely?

  Shark Email Extractor

  Didn't work for me :(

  Pros: It seems pretty basic and simple but it just didn't work. I have XP Pro and the scan went on forever with no results. I tried scanning a Word 2003 document. It almost seems like a joke program to me.

  Cons: You need to know the folder where you outlook stores your emails on the C drive.
