Not only does this impressive program provide extensive details on the software installed on your computer, it gives you direct links to update old and programs that are potentially not secure.
Secunia Personal Software's interface is clean and professional in design. Tabs give easy access to each of the sections, which include a comprehensive scan and three software categories. The scan takes some time and may slow down your system initially, but that isn't something you'll need to do every day and it provides critical information on the software you have loaded on your system. The program rates software in three categories: Insecure, End-of-Life, and Patched. For each item it finds issue with, you'll get the file's directory, version, and known issues. When available, it also has a direct link to the publisher's site to get the latest version of a program. The program also has a very useful Toolbox that gives you quick access to Add/Remove Programs, the listed software's folder, online references, and more. Secunia Personal Software Inspector uses plain, easy-to-understand language for all of its onscreen instructions and explanations. Novices will feel comfortable making changes, but more experienced users also will benefit from this program. In fact, one of our favorite settings involves nothing more than a simple check box. When it's checked, the program doesn't display programs that the publisher deems difficult to patch. One click, and more savvy users can tackle the tougher software issues. With each update or fix, the affected program is removed from the list.

Pros: unable to get this older vers to run on vista but went to site and got 9.0.4 vers and set was fine.java was out of date and just put on new comp 2 days ago so surprised not updated. click on solutions at end of line to fix easy.
Cons: nothing. just need to inform of newer version to cnet.

"Great, but why not just visit website?"
Pros: This is a very helpful program, but I use it by visiting the website and running the scan. Why would I want to download this app which will just take up space? Is there an advantage to have it on your pc?

Pros: ok, you have great antivirus and spyware software alongf with a killer firewall, but your pc is still vulnerable because your editions of adobe or java are outdated leaving your whole system vulnerable, not a problem with secunia as it lets you know what the vulnerabilities are in your pc and shows you how to ''patch'' them, great!!
Cons: only problem is it tries to run as a startup program and windows won't let it, so i run it manually, but make sure you create a desktop icon first or you are screwed, to do this go too start all programs then look for secunai then drag it onto your desktop, other thna that there are no complaints at all.

that message appear when i started secunia but it took 1 day but it didn't load at all. And their is no support on the site for the product to ask about the problem. could have been a very great software to add to my computer. Am very disappointed..:(
