Version: Sacred Demo
Pros: it is not really short judging from that it is a demo, you get 13 quest to play in demo so it will pretty much keep you up for a while, i took me like 2 hour to complete it. and there is no time limit but there is map limit once you have come to certain part of the map the demo will end.....
Cons: some small tiny flaw which won't effect much of the game experience, i am sure they will release patch to fix it soon

Version: Sacred Demo
Summary: You can tell from the demo that the game is going to be great, but it's WAY too short, even if you play both classes

"Great action RPG much like Diablo and Diablo 2."
Pros: I like being able to be many different characters and most of them are pretty easy to level up in and it is a huge, huge world. I have Sacred gold, never played the demo. I play the game alot.
Cons: I wish the badguys would not respawn in areas after you have already killed them.

"Game is great However Encore Tech/Customer Service is NOT"
Pros: The map/quest interface was an incredible help. You get to create your own waypoints on the world map that guide you along on the main screen (compass) without having to switch back and forth from map to game. It sports nice graphics along with a good story line. The linear story plot is enhanced by free movement, so you can go explore, and several sub-plots to keep you from getting bored. You are allowed to combine attack techniques into one mouse click so you can hit with greater damage. You are suppose to be able to improve weapons/armor depending on the artifacts you locate. I can not prove this because the demo is too short and see the 'cons' section for further.
Cons: A few times when I attempted to click on a 'magical hiding place' to obtain the said artical/money the game would not allow me to do so. When I fought NPC's I had to hold down the left mouse button (on top of them) in order to attack. If the NPC moved, my character just stood there until I left clicked & held again.
You can only play two characters in the demo, but you have several to choose from in the purchased game. Which leads me to my next point.
I purchased the gold verson from the Encore website that is listed in the demo game. Download went fine, however when I attempted to run the install wizard, I would constantly get errors at the same point 'texture.pak' @ 38% & had to close the program. Regardless of what instructions I followed from Encore's website, I was unable to install the game. I attempted (@ their website) to do a search on their articals for help and nothing was found. I then went to Sacred's website in the forum section. Another customer listed this exact issue. This customer claimed to locate a toll number (which was not posted on the forum) for tech support and 'they' advised him/her of a possible solution (Windows Installer 3.1). This customer and I tried that fix with no resolution. The only 800 numbers in which I could locate, on Encore's website, were for their rebates. The return policy wants the customer to return the box/game etal for a refund. I don't see how this is possible since this is a download and there is no physical product to mail back. There is a phone number (not toll-free) that you can call for a refund/support IF you purchased the game from the Broderbund (which I did not). I also logged onto Encore's website (tech support) and listed my above issue through their e-mail and still have not received a response.
If you wish to play the full-version game I would suggest to buy the CD from a vendor, unless you want to go through the steps in contesting your credit card purchase.
