From Firetrust:MailWasher is a program to help you get rid of spam and viruses in your e-mail. MailWasher allows you to preview all aspects of your e-mail on the server before you download it to your computer, thus protecting you from spam, viruses, phishing attacks, and other nuisances. You can then delete unwanted e-mail before it gets to you. Other features help identify and protect you against viruses and worms. Also included are comprehensive antispam tools, recycle bin and many other features. Free version supports single e-mail account, and has no auto delete feature and no user support.
Version 6.1.1.18 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Pros: Bounce back any unwanted emails and with any luck you should be removed from mailing lists.
Cons: Not sure if you will ever see a reduction of spam but it is an easy way of vetting your emails

Cons: How many people have only one email account? If you do, then this may be okay, but if you have more than one account it's useless.

Pros: still looking
Cons: requires log in and password every time mail is checked (even though remember password is checked). I've uninstalled it and am going to reload previous version.
