Winmail Opener is a small and simple utility that allows you to view and extract contents of TNEF-encoded messages (infamous winmail.dat). Winmail Opener can decode and show RTF message text and all embedded attachments, has full drag-and-drop support and supports command line mode for batch decoding. Version 1.4 added Spanish and Italian languages support.

Pros: 1. Perfect integration with the email client (I use a web-based email client).
2. Easy extraction of attachments
3. Perfectly renders formatted mail

"Small, Simple, does one thing well"
Pros: The program opens a .dat file and displays the contents or attachments. it is almost instantaneous. Senders of these files are the problem, but it is difficult to get them to make the needed changes. It is really easy to open their file.
Cons: The program could do a better job os telling where it will put the files
Summary: Simple utility that can help novice and advanced users open emails they would otherwise loose.
