FxFoto provides a single tool for automatically organizing, enhancing, annotating, e-mailing, printing, uploading, and archiving your digital photos. An animated navigator frame displays photo thumbnails of all your pictures by topic, and photos can be organized and searched with user-specified keywords. FxFoto Standard Edition is freeware and includes red-eye correction, lighting and image enhancement, blemish removal, feathered rectangular or oval cropping, text effects, and a clone brush. The Deluxe or Creative Edition upgrades also create animated slide shows, collages, and scrapbook layouts using advanced creative effects, cropping shapes and stitched multi-photo panoramas, all with the same download.

Version 5.0.066 features Windows Vista compatibility, XP/Vista style dialogs, improved deluxe edition feature trials.

• "Free image editing"

This image editor earns kudos for its impressive feature set. Before it launches, FxFoto offers to scan your PC for images and gives you the option to view a detailed tutorial. When we first saw the cluttered interface, we were wary, but we figured out how to perform all the actions in no time.

FxFoto has just about every image-editing tool most folks will need. You can automatically or manually improve shots, remove red-eye and blemishes, apply a number of effects, add frames and borders, correct colors, and alter white balance. FxFoto supplies a standard set of drawing tools and lets you add captions to any of your shots. The handy zoom tool provides a great deal of control over magnification. Once you've tweaked pictures to your liking, you can create a slide show with transitions, though you can't add your own music or narration unless you upgrade to the pay version.

You also can design a photo collage and share it via e-mail, burn it to CD, or upload it to one of several sharing sites. Best of all, FxFoto is free, making it a fine tool for lightweight image-editing tasks.

  "You can save your photo"

  Pros: I don't understand what duffman is saying but I"ve tried it and I was able to save my finished projects.

  Cons: Well it will keep on reminding you to upgrade but considering that your only using the free version its understandable.

  "One of the best free programs"

  Pros: This program is easy to use & for being free it offers a lot of options and does what it says. The frame feature is very nice. It?s worth having just for this option. E-mailing pictures is easy. Cropping is easy. Auto fix works nicely. Inserting text and drawing feature is nice and easy. You can save your pictures to any file in any format. No problems importing pictures. The program will read any format and won?t change formats of previous pictures. The only pop ups you get asking if you want to upgrade to the paid version is when you open the program & close it, none while using the program. All you have to do is click on the ?continue to use free version tab?. In my opinion you can?t ask for anything more from a free program and it?s definitely worth having.

  "Nice but Have Limitations in the free version"

  Pros: Is fast and really easy, has the option of see all the images of hard drive with miniatures. Nice photo edition functions.

  Cons: The free version is limited and not allow to save the result when some functions are used.

  "Barely usable for photo editing"

  Pros: It kinda allows you to copy/paste things fairly easily. Other than that, there isn't much.

  Cons: Once you copy/past anything from two different pictures, it wants you to buy it before you can save it. It's not free, unlike what they say, and the editing functions aren't very intuitive. They could have at least told you that you can't save anything once you edit it.
